In addition to a NORMALISED version, called MOSTECH, Convel produces a series of STATIC GROUPS at customer request.
All the main functions, the signals, the alarms and other features, are made to the customer’s Technical Specification.

All the UPS made by Convel incorporate the most recent technology including the high frequency IGBT technology to give an output sinusoidal voltage without any distortion (<2%) and/or other disturbances. The system used is pulse width modulation (PWM).

Typically, these pieces of equipment are supplied with a static by-pass, automatic switches on both the input and output sides and manual by-pass. The main electronic board is fitted with a codified digital controller which monitors the working state of the equipment in real time. The controller produces a numeric code on a display to indicate the source of alarms and/or faults, making the maintenance operations and return to service much quicker than would otherwise be the case.

The type of battery used, may be sealed lead, stationary lead (open containers) or Nickel-Cadmium. Their outputs and nominal voltages can be adapted to the particular equipment (e.g. batteries already in place) or to the customer’s requirements.

The cubicle painting, like that of the battery chargers, is a series operation using epoxide powder, which is then oven treated. The thickness is at least 75µ, in RAL 7032.
Painting can be carried out to other standards (BS, NEMA) and /or using different colours for both framework, doors and panels.
All the internal fixings are tropicalised to give a long working life.

The internal cabling normally uses protective channels; and the cables themselves are the flame-resistant type (CEI 20 - 22). For specific purposes, it is possible to use low toxic emission flame resistant cables type AFUMEX CEI 20 - 38.
The minimum protection grade is IP 30 or IP 20 with the doors open. The protection grade can be raised on request, or for special applications.

All UPS are supplied with full documentation, CE marking and conform to the Low Voltage Directive CEE 73/23.
